The association's logo, endearingly called "Fulliman" by many, was the result of a design competition among 50 universities in 1992. The Fulbright Alumni e.V. competition jury unanimously chose the design by Michael Vollkmer.
But what does the "Fulliman" stand for? In the association's magazine FRANKly from October 1993, jury-member Silke Wolter describes the interpretation of the logo which lead to its being chosen:
"In this design we see communication, possibly a bridge or a stylized person in movement. This is also how we see a 'Fulli' (Fulbright Alumnus): as a person between cultures, receiving and giving, linking people - and mobile."
